BTEC HND Level 5 Diploma in Computing (Systems and Development) - QCF

Information Systems...

The amount of knowledge and information that has ever been generated, stored and retrieved using computer systems continues to grow at an enormous rate. Trained professionals are needed to manage and organise these information systems in every type of business and enterprise.

Computer Applications...
The applications of computers are unlimited. Information processing, business computing, automated offices, computer aided design, artificial intelligence and robotics, are some of the applications in everyday use.

Computer Professionals...
CISCO Certifed courses prepare learners for exams associated with the networking devices, LAN/WAN, routing and switching.

These are divided in three levels:

CCNA (CISCO Certified Network Associate):
Can be taken as 2 exams i.e. ICND-1 and ICND-2 or full CCNA exam

CCNP (CISCO Certified Network Professional):
Divided into multiple exams e.g. Routing, Switching and Troubleshooting (CCNP – Routing and Switching)

CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert):
Divided into theory and practical exam

The Commercial Environment...
The hardware, programming languages, development packages and applications used on all courses are constantly updated to reflect new developments, enabling the college to keep in line with trends in industry. Networking capabilities and the Microsoft Windows operating environment ensure students use software under industry standard operating systems. Students therefore develop practical skills that are immediately beneficial in a commercial environment. The college ensures that each student has access to a computer with no need to share equipment.
